My name is Jordan Riley and I'm a software engineer based in Phoenix, Arizona. I'm currently in my senior year at Grand Canyon University studying computer programming and I'm also employed as a software developer intern at Sandhills Publishing. I started teaching myself how to code in Java when I was 14, and I've had a huge passion for it ever since. I spend a lot of my free time coding and I'm always striving to learn more and keep up to date with the latest technology in the industry. My first endeavors as a young programmer were making games using the Java2d graphics library. Since then, I've shifted my focus to the web and consider myself a well-rounded full stack developer. Some of my hobbies outside of programming include gaming, lifting weights, and snowboarding.
.Net Core & .Net Framework (C# and VB)
Spring Boot (Java)
React.js, Node.js, Express (Javascript)
Relational Databases: MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL
Non-relational Databases: MongoDB
HTTP Servers: IIS, Apache, Nginx, Kestrel
Cloud Platforms: AWS & Azure
I've been a software developer intern at Sandhills Global for about a year and half now now. I'm on the inventory management team and work on several a full stack .NET applications. Most of my job involves planning, designing, and developing a suite of software applications for customers in the heavy equipment trading industry.
A majority of my technical experience has come from personal projects I've spent my free time on over the years. School has taught me a lot of the theoretical concepts behind computer science and engineering, and then I've always applied that knowledge into my side projects. Some of the projects I've worked on can be viewed in detail on the projects page. I also participate in Hackathons, the most recent one sponsored by Paypal is also displayed on my projects page.
